Treatment

Teeth whitening is one of the simplest cosmetic procedures if done right. Doing it right means using a proper whitening agent (that is, a good hydrogen peroxide gel, and an appropriate whitening accelerator.

The most practical accelerator is an LED lamp emitting cold blue light.  A very simple procedure is performed with Hydrogen peroxide gel is applied to the teeth. A cold blue light is placed directly over teeth and run for 15-20 minutes - You typically perform 1 to 3 treatments in the one session.  This is a painless, non-invasive process.

How white is white?

A cosmetic teeth whitening treatment will NOT make the teeth pearly white. It will make them shades whiter. How much whiter? It really depends on a multitude of factors, including how stained the teeth were before the whitening, what kind of staining agent caused most of the coloration, how well your enamel reacts to peroxide and the number of treatments performed. It can also depends on the kind of gel used, the concentration of the teeth whitening gel. Some teeth resist whiteing such as those that were stained by the antibiotic tetracycline or fluorosis.

The Result!

Obtaining good results for my customers is the most important thing in this business, so to make sure a top quality 12% hydrogen peroxide gel is used. If you want results in a 15-20 minute treatment, the only option is hydrogen peroxide, hydrogen gives much better results than carbamide.

By using this product - hydrogen peroxide it can cause gum irritation and very occasionally teeth sensitivity in those few people with very sensitive teeth to start with.

The Advanced Whitening System we use involves painting the gel directly onto the teeth which negates having to use a gum shield which is how the whitening gel contacts the gums. This method means that very little gel comes into contact with the gums and irritation is rarely ever a problem.
